$67 Million in Bonds, 2014 SY Budget, CAFR, and Construction Awards Scheduled for Next School Board Meeting

Looks like the school board meeting scheduled for Feb 6, 2013 will be a long, and interesting one.  A number of items are on the agenda that deserve attention.

I have more than a few questions about these items and will be posting them in a subsequent article.  To find the agenda you have to go tot PWCS.edu. clink on Leadership, School Board, then Electronic School Board.  When the page for the Electronic School Board opens go to the far right hand side of the page and click on the tiny Agenda List.  Once the Agenda page opens, make sure the Select Year box says All Future Meetings, find the line for Feb 6 2013, and click on Feb 6 2013.  That will launch the agenda.  If you want more information about any item on the agenda, click on it and you’ll be take to a page with more details and attached files.

  1. Our Schools Says:

Why are bonds in the amount of $27,663,000 being pulled for the Haymarket School when the construction bid is only $18,788,000?

    Nice write up Kim.

Thanks! You got me. I can’t keep track of what the bonds are issued for and where the money goes. I also wonder why the update on the 2013 SY budget isn’t linked. School board members get it, but the public does not. Why?
