The Prince William County Education Reform blog proudly endorses Gil Trenum to represent Brentsville District residents on the Prince William County School Board.
Gil Trenum has been a strong advocate for Brentsville District residents for the past 4 years years. He stood with parents during the Math Investigations controversy and ensured that teachers were allowed to teach the way they see fit as opposed to being forced to follow an edict from central office. He challenged district officials devise a curriculum for our children that exceeds the state SOLs and has pushed district officials to explain how technology and other expenditures will improve student learning rather than jumping on the latest bandwagon. He’s an honest man who has made difficult decisions, including some which he knew would upset residents in his district and would cost him politically. Our schools need leaders with unvanquished integrity who are willing to push for what’s right, even when that might cost them politically, and we are proud to endorse Gil Trenum to represent the residents of Brentsville District on the Prince William County School Board.
