Back to School Edition

Winter coats are in the stores, the lights are on at the high school late into the night, in one week we’ve had a hurricane, tornado and an earthquake, and my kids are trying to kill one another. It must be time for school to start again.

We took a few weeks off this summer to spend time with our families and recharge our batteries. In the coming weeks we’ll be moving some things around on the blog and adding a couple of new features we hope you’ll enjoy. One thing we will be focusing on is the upcoming school board elections.

In case you didn’t realize it, in November we will be electing a new school board. Who represents us and our children on the school board is sort of important to us as that is the focus of this blog. We’re currently working on a questionnaire about issues that are important to us that we believe will be coming up in the next few years to send to all candidates. We plan to send the questionnaire to the candidates by the first day of school. If there’s something you’d like to have added to the questionnaire, please send it to us and we’ll do our best to include it. We’ll publish the questionnaire and any responses we receive.

We’re also working on a page linking you to each of the candidates web sites / facebook pages so that you can be as informed as possible about their opinions on the issues affecting our schools. You can find that page here.

We hope you had a great summer and hope you have an even better year.
