Brentsville football player, school board member’s son passes on

From Inside NOVA

Austin Trenum, son of School Board member Gil Trenum has died, school officials confirmed Monday morning.

Austin, a senior at Brentsville District High School, died early Monday morning, school division spokesman Ken Blackstone said.

“We’re deeply saddened by the loss of Austin Trenum,” Blackstone said. “The community is rallying around to the support of this family.”

Blackstone did not give details of what led to the teen’s death.

Austin was a senior running back/linebacker for Brentsville. During Friday night’s game, he rushed three times for three yards Friday in Brentsville’s 48-14 loss to Handley.

All of us at the PWC Education Reform blog offer our deepest sympathies to Gil, Michele, and the Trenum family.  The Trenum family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
