I understand pass-advance performance for 3rd graders decreased in the majority of PWC schools since TERC’s/MI’s implementation. Was there an upward trend prior to the 2008 results?

I’m still running the numbers for students achieving an advanced rate, but pass rates were trending upwards prior to the Investigations mandate. Most schools had already achieved their highest pass rate by 2005 or 2006. In 2004, 2005, and 2006 overall pass rates at each of the Brentsville area schools were:

      2004 2005 2006
      Bennett 96 98 98
      Bristow Run 97 98 96
      Cedar Point 95 99 97
      Nokesville 97 85 99
      Signal Hill 90 87 91
      Yorkshire 91 91 80

Unfortunately 2007 can’t be examined because of a state mandate which required that LEP scores be included in the overall and AYP sub-group pass rates. Prior to 2007 schools were given a 1 year waiver from including LEP pass rates in the ovreall and AYP pass rate totals.
